Doug Smith,
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Dear Friends of UCR Baseball,

As another season winds down, I wanted to make you all aware of some of the things going on in our program. As discussed earlier, our new Chancellor appears to be a fan of Athletics. He has toured all of our facilities and  is becoming more aware of our shortcomings. He has committed to repairing the lights at the ballpark. This is a big commitment in that the cost may come to nearly $1 million.

We also have a new Athletic Director in Greg Paules. Greg comes from Cal State Fullerton where among many duties oversaw Baseball. He has also become acutely aware of our budget shortfalls as well as facility needs. In speaking with him, he is hopeful that between help from the campus and improved outreach some of these issues can be addressed. I believe Greg will bring a lot to not only Baseball but to the department as well.

Our friends at Hangar 24, who help sponsor our Golf Tournament, have given the RBA access to their Suite at Angel Stadium for a game on May 23. The Angels are playing the Texas Rangers and Game Time is 7:05 P.M. The Suite Package includes 18 Tickets, 3 Parking Passes, and Post-Game Fireworks. Because time is so short, I propose you just email me or text me that you are interested and make a bid. I will award it to the highest bid by the 19th of May. This a great offer and great set up and allows us to raise more money for our program.  Please remember that the RBA is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. You will also be given RBA Diamond Club credit for your bid. Thanks
